Project Description
Sunset Drive formerly crossed a wash at grade next to Sunset Park. Flow across the road would cut off access to isolated areas and to the park. The City desired a crossing with greater accessibility to the park, including a shared-use path along the road. The design included a new Contech bridge, storm drain, roadway redesign, a speed table, shared-use path, and other amenities. The project included challenges such as matching grade along this steep road, limiting impacts to homes, minimizing loss to trees, and limiting encroachment to private property. JE Fuller prepared construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for this project which was constructed by the City of Sedona in 2021.
