The purpose of Dam Safety is to maximize protection of human life and property against dam failure. In order to meet this purpose it is necessary to inspect, evaluate, repair, design, and monitor new and existing structures. Developing action plans to successfully meet these requirements is also a critical tool.
Our staff has many years of combined and varied experience performing inspections, evaluations, and monitoring of existing structures. JEF has also designed new structures as well as field designed many other aspects related to dams. JEF also brings a unique value to the design process by using our expertise and understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, sedimentation and erosion, and applied geomorphology to develop functional, practical, and cost-effective flood control. JEF is also a leader in the design, construction and maintenance of flood warning systems, data collection systems and two-way wireless controls associated with operating and monitoring dams.
